Read Ephesians 2:10

Many years ago as a brand new believer, I was part of a new Christian rock group called the Owl of Light. One of the group members found this poem and set it to music making it easier for me to recall. Over the years I’ve thought a lot about life from God’s perspective and this poem has helped me order my life accordingly. I hope you enjoy it and that this Easter season and the whole year long it puts you in the right frame of mind for all the life you will face.

The Weaver

My Life is but a weaving
between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the under side.

Not til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver’s skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares,
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives His very best to those
Who leave the choice with Him.

Lord, Help us to place our lives in Your hands.  Amen.

Shalom, Greg Yetter
